Walk with us as we transform fears into compassion and apathy into action.
2010 Annual Sacred Peace Walk
Las Vegas to the Nevada Test Site
A Communal Pilgrimage to America's Nuclear Sacrifice Zone
March 29 to April 5
The 63 mile journey is a walking meditation. Most people camp with help from a Las Vegas support team though other accommodations are possible.
Part-time "pilgrims" welcome.
Come, let the desert's power inspire you!

Orientation is March 29 at the Las Vegas Catholic Worker. We mainly walk Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday with Friday spent in Indian Springs vigiling, reflecting, resting and rejuvenating. Some walkers may risk arrest at either Creech AFB (Friday or Monday) or at the Nevada Test Site (Sunday or Monday). Not everyone "crosses the line" (though all who walk are inherently line-crossers).
Registering beforehand helps us prepare well. Thank you for giving us a heads up. Suggested donation is $150 (sliding scale); pro-rate freely as you need.
Gathering pledges like a walk-a-thon is a great way to raise money...and awareness! NDE is a small-staffed, low-budget operation. This is an "easy sell" to get sponsors, and is an important source of support for NDE throughout the year. Non-walkers are encouraged to sponsor someone else.
We walk in the footsteps of a long legacy of peace walkers and spiritual leaders to draw attention to the nuclear dangers that continue to threaten our sacred planet and the community of life. We come to heal this, the most bombed place on Earth.
